Barabás Lőrinc builds a royal soundscape on "Fanfare"

Hungarian trumpet player and composer Barabás Lőrinc opens his new album, "Orbit," with "Fanfare." It opens with a track of trumpet, electronics, repetition, and cinematic atmosphere that builds a futuristic sound world with roots that go much, much further back.

The track has its own character, with a unique mix of ingredients. The arrangement is still developing, with layered trumpet parts, live looping, and synths that reference the 1980s. That slow burn gives "Fanfare" propulsion, sending its musical ideas somewhere more sumptuous and sweeping.

The track's concept fits the description of a futuristic royal procession very well. The music has a medieval feel but with electronic textures and modern looping techniques. That distinction lets the album's opening track stand alone.

As the first chapter of "Orbit," "Fanfare" introduces Lőrinc's musical language. The trumpet remains the focus, but electronics, repetition, and atmosphere broaden its possibilities. The result is a layered, cinematic neoclassical instrumental that opens an interesting door into the larger album.
