Darkness can be so consuming that even the smallest spark of hope feels unreachable, and loveoleglove's "I Need Light" builds its emotional world around that struggle. This is an inward journey through darkness, carried by one person through emotional melodic techno and progressive house, inspired by the experience of isolation, uncertainty, and trying to find a way forward alone.
The interesting thing about this is how light becomes more than an image. It stands for hope, slowly, and then for another person whose presence can begin to break down those walls that have been built up. The sun, air coming through the cracks, a river slowly eating away at stone, and all images that tie the song's main points together, and it feels like change, the weight of what came before still there.
"I Need Light" is a meditation on how hope can come when you've entered a very enclosed emotional place. loveoleglove is a thoughtful portrait of inner darkness, connectedness, and the possibility of finding the light again, set in the techno and progressive house spectrum.
