Eno Gumbo questions global power with "Hey Hegemon (At the Table or on the Menu)"

"Hey Hegemon (At the Table or on the Menu)" by Eno Gumbo has a pointed premise and a clear purpose. It's a rock-and-reggae song inspired by a speech by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026, when he said middle powers must work together, or those not at the table will become part of the menu.

Performed by Eno Gumbo, the song then becomes a darkly funny protest against whoever is running the world this year. The subject matter gives the release a pointed edge, and the rock-and-reggae mix provides the musical backdrop for Eno Gumbo's message.

It also has a live-band feel, featuring Robert Colwell, Paul Cough, Omar Ruiz-Lopez, Bob Evans, and Paul Thibeault, with guest vocalist Bella Ann. Robert Colwell and Paul Cough produced the track, wrote the song, and Robert Colwell mixed and mastered it.

"Hey Hegemon (At the Table or on the Menu)" is a band-generated response to the political language and world uncertainty that birthed it. Eno Gumbo combines humor, protest, rock, reggae, and a clear concept to create a unique musical statement rooted in a modern geopolitical idea.
